A Little Edukaffetion - Hummingbird Lane Fabrics and Notions

In my previous post I put a spotlight on FreeSpirit Fabrics and a few of my favorite designers under that brand. Kaffe Fassett is well-known in the knitting, needlepoint and patchwork worlds for inspiring creators to embrace rich palettes of color. In his own right, he is a fabulous one-man show! Today I’d like to share a bit more about the Kaffe Fassett Collective

Most people will see these bright bold prints and say “that’s Kaffe” but what they may not realize is that there are actually more than one designer that make up the Kaffe Fassett Collective so not every print you see is designed by Kaffe himself.

The Kaffe Fassett Collective features fabric designs from Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably and Philip Jacobs (top to bottom in the picture above). These three unique perspectives include fashion, geometrics and florals. They are a treat to combine!

How do you know which is which? Simple.  All you have to do is look at the item number on the bolt.

If you’re not sure where to start, consider Kaffe Fassett’s Quilts in Burano! The colorful Venetian Island of Burano is the backdrop for this stunning quilt collection that includes fabrics from the collective.

How will you use these colorful fabrics? Show off your work in the Hummingbird Lane Fabric Fanatics Facebook group or tag me in your Instagram posts (and #HBLFabrics)!
