My trip to the Caribbean and the Island of St Kitts - Hummingbird Lane Fabrics and Notions

My family and I recently escaped on a family cruise to the Caribbean and it was amazing!  My mom had booked it for all of us pre-COVID and due to the pandemic and other health things that came up we weren't able to go until now.

It was the three of us (me, my husband, and our daughter), my parents, and my sister with her 2 daughters. We stopped at St Thomas, Antigua, Barbados, Martinique, and St Kitts.

St. Kitts was by far my favorite island. It was a stunning island with a powerful island vibe.

We swam with dolphins and my daughter held a monkey.  She loved every minute of it!

On the island of St Kitts is a batik manufacturer called Caribelle Batiks.  We could have gone to their facility to see batiks being made but the taxi ride was too expensive for us, plus I was nervous about getting back to the boat on time.

But we were able to stop in to their Outlet store just off port and man was I in love! Their batiks as so incredibly soft and the designs are modern with vibrant colors. The downside is they don't sell their fabrics by the yard to other shops.  But I was able to at least get some fabric scrap bags and some 5 inch square bags too.

They had some beautiful wall hangings and panels as well with Hummingbirds on them. Their logo has a hummingbird in as well so it just felt like fate!

I wanted to share a piece of this paradise with you all so I acquired some scrap bags and square packs.  They are available on the website HERE.

I gifted my staff with some of the Hummingbird wall hangings too.  I can't wait to make something with it and with some of the fabric scraps as well.  These batiks are some of the best I have seen in quite some time. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you would like to win a bundle of these gorgeous batiks for yourself you can check out our current Giveaway here that ends on March 12th, 2023.
