Spotlight on FreeSpirit Fabrics - Hummingbird Lane Fabrics and Notions

One of my favorite parts of running Hummingbird Lane is sharing brands I love and adore with you, the creative quilters, sewists, and bag makers of the world! While I am always bringing in new lines and the latest collections, each month I’ll be shining a spotlight on a particular brand. Today I’d like to introduce you to Free Spirit Fabrics

FreeSpirit Fabrics brings together a diverse group of leading designers to create high-quality fabrics. The variety of bold, modern, and vibrant patterns appeal to creators of today, of all ages and abilities! My personal favorite designers from FreeSpirit are Anna Maria Horner, Tula Pink, Tim Holtz, and the Kaffe Fassett Collective.

Anna Maria’s fabrics feature rich jewel tones, eclectic mix of florals, and elevates everyday items to extraordinary. Her designs are truly unique and will inspire creativity in so many ways.

Do you also love the “more is more” aesthetic? Tula Pink is the designer for you! She has an amazing talent for hiding animals in the designs, and is known for her unique use of color and patterns.

If you are looking for a really great quilt-along for the summer, or maybe looking for something to help introduce you to Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics, may I suggest the Gathering No Moss Quilt along ? There are three colorways to choose from: Delft (shown above), Scarlett, and Gemstone, plus, get a free tote bag just for signing up with my shop. ⁣What will your color be? I’m always partial to blues.

⁣There’s more to the Kaffe Fassett Collective, but we’ll save that for another post - stay tuned!

And last but not least is Tim Holtz.  He has a slightly darker palette of colors but my favorite thing about his designs is his ability to take antique designs, images, and prints and turn them into an eclectic mix of gorgeous prints.  And his Halloween prints are just the best. Dark and moody, just the way I like Halloween to be. Check out Regions Beyond to see what I mean!

Do you have a favorite designer or collection from FreeSpirit Fabrics? I’d love to hear about it and see your projects! Consider this an open invitation to join the Hummingbird Lane Fabric Fanatics Facebook group or tag me in your Instagram posts (and #HBLFabrics) - I love to see what happens to the fabric when it leaves my shop for your craft space!
